Impressive Dining at Windermere

If you are fortunate enough to live in or around Windermere, near Philadelphia, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to fine dining. If you are incredibly fortunate and live in one of the luxury 3-bedroom apartments at the Villages at Windermere, you have several eateries virtually on your doorstep. Here are three of the most exquisite.

Asuka

Sushi is one of those foods that often provokes powerful feelings: either you love it, or you hate it. If you are a sushi fan, then you need to check out Asuka.

This restaurant offers both Chinese cuisine and a Sushi bar. Spring rolls are one of Asuka’s specialties: 29 to choose from, from sweet to savory, including the in-house Asuka signature roll.

Choose your favorite soup, salad, or vegetarian dish, traditional noodle dishes as well as poultry and beef dishes. On the cheap side, you can get a small spring roll (appetizer) for as little as $3! The most pricy seafood combination will set you back $19.

Fellini café

If you’re a fan of Italian food, you’re in for a treat at Fellini Café. Fellini offers delivery or dine-in – but dine-in is highly recommended. One of the strengths of this restaurant is the exquisite presentation of its meals on white oval platters with the food arranged just so.

A range of family-style dinner packages is on offer. A small salad-eating family can dine for as little as $19, or a large family can splurge on ‘Family Chicken Fellini with Jumbo Crab Meat’ for $59. If you’re worried that all this refinement will be wasted on the little ones, do not despair – Fellini has a kids’ menu.

And if you have a sweet tooth, you’ll die for the decadent desserts. Choose from Cannoli (imported Italian Cannoli pasta filled with chocolate chip cream) to Tiramisu.

The Stone Tavern 1867

This gem of a pub was voted Best Authentic Irish Pub in 2019. Formerly known as ‘The Blarney Stone,’ the Stone can now claim to be a ‘tavern’ in virtue of its high-quality food and spirits—1867 is when the first members of the Bayle family arrived in the United States from their home in Donegal, and the restaurant’s decor reflects this old country heritage.

All menu items are cooked daily using ingredients sourced from the local butcher, and hand-crafted Irish spirits are sourced from The Connacht Whiskey Company in County Mayo.

On the main menu, you can choose from various soups and salads, pub plates, house fries, sandwiches, and burgers – along with more traditional fare. There is a beer & cocktails menu, a wine menu, a kids’ menu, a dessert menu, and a beer to-go menu.

Last but certainly not least is the coffee menu. You can choose regular or decaf, hot chocolate or Irish coffee. This decadent confection is made from ballyhoo (Irish whiskey), brown sugar, and whipped cream. A cup of this coffee after your lunch will have you hot-footing it back to your luxury Windermere apartment for your postprandial siesta.
